Angolan artist, producer and creative director Coréon Dú has launched a new episode of The Revolution Will Be Televised, its series of conversations focusing on creativity, culture and industry.
In this THIRD CHAPTERtalks to Luís Pereira, a key figure in fashion communication and production in Portugal, to analyse the current challenges of the sector and its evolution in recent years.
During the conversation, the two reflect on Portugal's international growth as a luxury and tourism destination, and how this recognition does not always translate into greater opportunities for local designers and brands.
Pereira points out one of the main shortcomings of the industry: the lack of business training within the creative sector. "Designers know how to create, but they often don't know how to turn that into a business," he explains during the episode.
The dialogue also addresses the role of Da Banda Model Management in opening up new opportunities for racialised models within the Portuguese market. Pereira acknowledges that the agency drove greater diversity on the Portuguese catwalks and helped to broaden representation within the industry.
In addition, both analyse how social media and content creators have transformed fashion communication, forcing brands and professionals to adapt to new digital dynamics.
With this new episode, The Revolution Will Be Televised continues to consolidate itself as a space for conversation about the creative industries and the changes that are redefining sectors such as fashion, music and communication.
