The documentary African Beauty continues its international tour and adds a new important date to its agenda. The film will be premiered on the Atlantic coast of the United States as a official selection of the BronzeLens Film Festivalwhich will be held in Atlanta, Georgia. This festival, founded in 2009, is recognised as an Oscar qualifying event.

Its programming focuses on works led by diverse voices both in front of and behind the camera, with a clear commitment to projects of strong artistic and cultural value made by global authors. The participation in BronzeLens marks a new milestone for African Beautywhich this year has already participated in important international festivals.
Previous participations in international festivals
In Spain, the film was selected in competition as part of the FeedDog Barcelona Fashion Documentary Festivala space specialising in documentary films about fashion. In Portugal, it was presented at the FESTIN - Travelling Portuguese Language Film Festivalalso in official competition. On the Pacific coast of the United States, African Beauty was part of the San Francisco Black Film Festivalwhich gives visibility to Afro-descendant narratives from around the world.
An international tour celebrating African diversity and identity
Directed by Coréon DúAn Angolan artist and creative artist, the documentary brings together more than 30 interviews with African voices from different regions - north, central, west, east and south of the continent - as well as representatives of the African diaspora in countries such as Poland, Spain, France and Portugal. Through these conversations, the film proposes a profound reflection on African beauty standards, their evolution and their global representation.
Production, post-production and releases
The production of African Beauty began in 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and ran until 2024, when post-production was completed. Its continental premiere took place at the AFRIFF - Africa International Film Festival in Lagos (Nigeria), one of the most important events on the African continent. Its international premiere was held in the United Kingdom, as part of the BUFF - British Urban Film Festival in London.
With its upcoming screening at the BronzeLens Atlanta Film Festival, African Beauty continues to consolidate its presence on the international circuit as a work that amplifies contemporary African narratives and makes visible the transformative power of identity, aesthetics and cultural representation in film.
